I love green beans! They’re such a versatile vegetable. A great addition to casseroles, soups and stews, side dishes- green beans are mighty tasty on their own as well. These fancy green beans take very little time to prepare and the added ingredients provide a delicious flavor boost. Enjoy!

Fancy Green Beans

A super easy dressed-up side dish perfect for every day!

Equipment

  • 1 large sauté pan
  • 1 cutting board

Ingredients

  • 4 cups fresh green beans or 1 (12 oz) bag pre-washed green beans
  • 1/3 cup slivered almonds
  • 1/2 cup red pepper, diced (1 small or 1/2 large)
  • 1.5 tbsp olive oil or garlic-infused olive oil

Instructions

  • Wash and dry green beans. Snip off ends. Dice the red pepper.
  • Heat olive oil in a large skillet or sauté pan.
  • Add green beans and diced red pepper. Sauté for 5-10 minutes until beans are just fork tender or to desired tenderness.
  • Add the slivered almonds and sauté an additional 1-2 minutes.
  • Add salt and pepper to taste.
